Smithdon High School is proud to be part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.
As a result, our Year 11 students have a direct route into Springwood High School Sixth Form – a large and inclusive sixth form with a reputation for academic excellence and exceptional pastoral care. Year after year, Springwood students achieve outstanding results in both A Level and Level 3 Vocational Qualifications, making it the first-choice post-16 destination in West Norfolk.

At Springwood, students enjoy the independence of college life combined with the strong pastoral support of a school sixth form. Each student is guided by a dedicated Progress Tutor, who provides individual mentoring, helps with university and apprenticeship applications, and supports future career planning.

Strong results mean that our leavers regularly secure places at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as Level 6 and 7 degree apprenticeships with national employers such as Astrazeneca and Caterpillar. In recent years, students have been supported to take up places at prestigious international universities, including Hong Kong and Harvard.

Beyond the classroom, Springwood offers a structured enrichment and work experience programme, giving students the chance to broaden their skills and interests. Opportunities include Duke of Edinburgh Gold, Latin and Classics, and Level 3 Sports Leadership, alongside international trips to destinations such as Cambodia, Peru, India, and Thailand.
