End of term goes with a bounce at Smithdon
Students at Smithdon High School were rewarded for their hard work on the last day of term, when they swapped their studies for an array of different activities and games.
Smithdon Fun Day was held on Friday 19 July at our school, and saw students across all year groups take part in a morning of quizzes, competitions and sporting activities, before sharing a picnic lunch provided by the school canteen.
It was the second time that the event had taken place, and the afternoon continued in a similarly buoyant fashion, with staff and students alike enjoying inflatables on the school field, including a bouncy castle, obstacle courses, and a penalty shoot out.
There was also an ice cream van offering refreshments, while a member of staff took on the role of DJ for the occasion.
“It’s really important to mark the end of a successful year and show all our students and staff how appreciative we are of all the hard work they have put in over the year,” said Sarah Robinson, Deputy Headteacher at our school, which is a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.
“It’s a lovely opportunity as well for students to see another side of their teachers and build positive relationships.”
