Sport Relief

Smithdon High School is really excited to be raising money for Sport Relief 2020 this year. As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise money and change lives. All students are encouraged to take part in the following fundraising activities to make their contribution:

  • ο‚·The Sport Relief Mile - Week Beginning 9 March. Students will take part in the Sport Relief mile during their PE lessons. They can complete as many miles as possible and in a variety of different ways (walking, running or three-legged with a friend). Please find attached a sponsorship form, which we encourage students to gain from family and friends. All monies should be collected and handed in to the office by Friday 13 March.
     
  • Lunchtime Sporting Challenge - Week Beginning 9 March. Students can take part in the following  sporting challenges at 20p a go, with a chance to win a prize!

     
    Monday Basketball shooting - how many baskets can you score in a minute (Sports Hall)
    Tuesday Badminton and table tennis rally - how many shots can you get in a badminton or table tennis rally (Gym)
    Wednesday Dodgeball games - teams of 6-8 to take part in dodgeball games in a knockout competitions (Years 7-9 and years 10-11). Boys - Sports Hall, Girls - (Gym)
    Thursday Beat the keeper challenge - 5 penalties - how many can you score?

     

  • Cake Sales – Week Beginning 9 March. Cakes available to buy from the canteen at break and lunchtime. All proceeds will go towards Sport Relief.
     
  • Dress Differently For School - Friday 13 March. Students can wear non-uniform or dress up as their favourite sporting personality. The minimum donation for dressing differently will be £1.00.

Please make sure that your son or daughter is prepared for normal lessons with their usual equipment.
